Mandatory ethics policy refresher training and cybersecurity training

The University System of Georgia (USG) Board of Regents recently issued information to each USG institution about two required trainings for all current USG employees, which must be completed by Tuesday, Dec. 31. Details on each are provided below. Both training requirements are being offered through UGA’s Professional Education Portal (PEP) to assist employees with timely completion.

Mandatory ethics policy refresher training

The USG ethics policy requires all USG employees to complete an ethics refresher training course annually. The Board of Regents (BOR) recently updated its ethics policy refresher training module and has set a deadline of Dec. 31 for all faculty, staff, and student employees hired before July 1, 2019 to complete the updated training module. This module includes a 20-minute presentation on the ethics policy, quiz sections, and policy acknowledgment questions. To complete this mandatory training, please logon to the PEP with your UGA MyID and password. Once on the PEP homepage, scroll down and under the section “training due,” select “USG Ethics Refresher Training 2019.”

Cybersecurity awareness training

Cybersecurity awareness training is a critical tool in the University System’s efforts to keep our information safe and secure. This mandatory training module will take approximately 20 minutes to complete and also has a deadline of Dec. 31 for all faculty, staff, and student employees. Beginning in calendar year 2020, all USG employees will be required to complete cybersecurity awareness training twice annually, in April and October. To complete this mandatory training, please logon to PEP with your UGA MyID and password. Once on the PEP homepage, scroll down and under the section “training due,” select “USG Cybersecurity Awareness Training Fall 2019.”

Ethics and cybersecurity training must be completed in PEP. If the courses do not appear in the lower left-hand of the homepage, keyword search for “ethics” and then “cyber,” and they should appear. Select “launch” to complete the course.

Faculty, staff, and student employees who have questions about the USG ethics policy refresher training or the USG cybersecurity awareness training should contact the Human Resources Service Desk at 706-542-2222 or email Human Resources.
