The College of Education will have a table at UGA’s 17th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Breakfast and will hold seats for the first RSVPs received. Please express your interest in attending by Monday, Jan. 6. Additional ticket sales information can be found on UGA Calendar of Events website.

Keynote speaker Steve C. Jones will deliver the keynote address at the 17th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Breakfast. Appointed by former President Barack Obama in 2011, Jones presides over cases involving the U.S. government, the Constitution, federal laws, civil disputes, and other matters. Prior to his appointment to the district court, he served as a superior court judge in Athens-Clarke and Oconee Counties for 16 years. A 2018 recipient of UGA’s Alumni Merit Award, he is a longtime supporter of the University and a recognized leader in the community. Jones earned his bachelor’s degree in management in 1978 and his Juris Doctor in 1987, both from the University of Georgia.

Attendees should note that the Tate Center parking deck fills up very fast before events, and the lines to use the Tate Center elevators to enter the Grand Hall can also be long. Therefore, we strongly advise you arrive early, carpool, and/or take the bus so you can enjoy the start of the event.
