Creative Teaching Award nominations extended to Jan. 24

Nominations for the 2019 Creative Teaching Awards have been extended to Friday, Jan. 24 at 5 p.m. The Creative Teaching Awards recognize UGA faculty for excellence in developing and implementing creative teaching strategies to improve student learning.

These awards are presented annually to encourage instructional excellence on behalf of the Office of Instruction, the Center for Teaching and Learning, and the Office of the Provost.

Criteria:

  • Available for all full-time faculty, including tenured, tenure-track, or non-tenured faculty
  • Demonstrated innovation in teaching and successful outcomes, such as innovative use of technology, pedagogy that extends learning beyond the traditional classroom or creative implementation of a subject matter that has significantly improved student learning outcomes
  • Learning outcomes must have been completed within the 2018-2019 academic year

Nominations may be submitted by any faculty member, dean, or department head and should include the name, department, and rank of the nominee, along with a brief statement (approximately 300 words) explaining why the nominee should be considered for the award.
