  • Date: Thursday, Jan. 30
  • Time: Noon-1 p.m.
  • Location: Aderhold Hall Room G23

Headshot of Bettina Love

Bettina Love, an associate professor in the Department of Educational Theory and Practice, will discuss the struggles and possibilities of committing ourselves to an abolitionist goal of educational freedom and intersectional justice, so we all can move beyond what she calls the educational survival complex.

Abolitionist teaching is built on the creativity, imagination, boldness, ingenuity, and rebellious spirit and methods of abolitionists to demand and fight for an educational system and world where all students are thriving, not simply surviving.
