The Office of Faculty Affairs is offering several workshop series for faculty, including a series on community, diversity, and inclusion. Consider signing up for one of these workshops and see the complete spring 2020 faculty learning series course on the Provost’s Office website.

Courageous Conversations: Strategies for Making Connections and Setting Boundaries

Connect with others and discuss important, compelling topics that are sometimes “swept under the rug.” You can learn techniques that will help you discuss challenging topics, including issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Cultural Competency for Recruitment and Retention

Few of us really understand what it means to be inclusive. Learn about cultural competency, macroaggressions, and best practices for recruitment and retention of diverse faculty and students.

Creating Community: Resources for Retention of Faculty

  • Date: Friday, April 10
  • Time: 1-3 p.m.
  • Location: Training and Development Room L
  • Facilitator: Megan Brock

This session will provide perspectives and solutions to support the retention of underrepresented faculty. The workshop will be led by a panel of faculty who are members of the Diverse Faculty Retention Faculty Learning Community (DFR FLC). Participants will learn about UGA resources for diverse faculty. The panelists and participants will brainstorm how to further improve support for faculty of diverse backgrounds.
