Apply to College's internal competition for the 2020 William T. Grant Scholar's Program
Each college at UGA can select one nominee to apply for the 2020 William T. Grant Scholars Program. All disciplines are invited to consider this opportunity. Proposed research plans must address questions that are relevant to policy and practice in one of the Foundation’s two focus areas: Reducing inequality or improving the use of research evidence.

Important dates:
- March 18: Notify Grace Thornton of intent to apply
- March 25: Internal competition documents due to the Office of Research and Graduate Education
- April 8: Nominee selection
- July 1: Proposal due to William T. Grant Foundation
The William T. Grant Scholars Program supports career development for promising early-career researchers. The program funds five-year research and mentoring plans that significantly expand researchers’ expertise in new disciplines, methods, and content areas.
Applicants should have a track record of conducting high-quality research and an interest in pursuing a significant shift in their trajectories as researchers. Awards are based on applicants’ potential to become influential researchers, as well as their plans to expand their expertise in new and significant ways.
