Timely: Spring 2020 Commencement processional details, regalia rental

Thank you for your continued support of UGA’s formal academic ceremonies. It is highly important that we have ample faculty attendance in the processional at Spring Commencement.

All faculty are welcome to attend the undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremonies, but only those registered will march in the processional.

• Faculty signup: Please use this registration link to indicate your participation in Commencement no later than Friday, April 24. Regalia rentals are managed by the bookstore and are due no later than Monday, March 2 to avoid late fees.
• Regalia rental: Rental of faculty regalia will be provided free of charge through the UGA Bookstore. Regalia rentals must be placed at the UGA Bookstore by Monday, March 2 to ensure delivery and avoid rush fees. Orders placed after Friday, April 3 cannot be guaranteed and will incur rush fees (to be paid for by the faculty member). Please rent regalia using the UGA Bookstore’s faculty regalia rental form. The UGA Bookstore will assist you and can be reached at 706-542-3171 or via email.
• Parking: Faculty who indicate they require parking will be sent parking pass(es) the week prior to Commencement. Parking passes will be delivered by campus mail to the address provided on the registration form. Parking passes will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Dinner and lineup: Faculty marching in the undergraduate processional should report to the Tate Center Grand Hall by 6 p.m. A buffet dinner will be provided. Dinner service begins at 5 p.m., and the procession will line up at 7 p.m. in the Tate Center Grand Hall (fifth floor).
• Clear bag policy: The clear bag policy for UGA athletic events is in effect for Commencement. Please follow the guidelines in the permitted/prohibited items section on the UGA Commencement website.
