Tracking your progress for the Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion

The certificate in diversity and inclusion logo

The Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) is a great way for UGA faculty and staff to build capacity to contribute to and sustain a diverse and inclusive campus environment. The certificate is comprised of one core course and five elective courses, all of which are offered at no cost. View the course listings (look for the CDI prefix) and register for summer courses on UGA’s Training & Development website.

In addition to the CDI courses listed on UGA’s Training & Development website, the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’s (DEI) Ally and Community Building Workshop, our Trans Affirming Practices Training, and the Safe Space Training offered through the LGBT Resource Center also count as electives toward the CDI.

The Office of Institutional Diversity has been undergoing some recent transitions and the DEI Office is working alongside them to ensure that your CDI courses are properly tracked, so you can get the credit toward your certificate.

If you are pursuing the CDI, please take a look at your PEP transcript through the Training & Development website and make sure that all the courses you’ve taken that count toward the certificate are listed. If something is missing, please email the Offie of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and we can work with you and the Office of Institutional Diversity to rectify the issue.

If you are pursuing the CDI, please express your intent to seek via the faculty and staff Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion intent to seek form, so we can keep you updated on course opportunities and support your progress through the program. When you do this, you’ll be joining a cohort of about 30 Mary Frances Early College of Education faculty and staff who are actively taking CDI courses and have committed to deepening their learning around diversity, equity, and inclusion.

If you’ve completed the certificate requirements and are ready to participate as a graduate in the 2020 embracing diversity ceremony, you must submit this CDI completion form by Friday, July 31.
