Register for the fall 2020 ITT Academy

This is a very different kind of teaching semester for each of us. We are teaching in different ways, using spaces and practices which have unique affordances and constraints that we largely discover while teaching, and keeping our eye on what it might mean to change things up without much notice. That said, like every other semester, this one is marked with possibility and opportunities for rich, new learning. And, like all semesters, it’s where we start.

At its core, the ITT Academy has been rooted in giving faculty a space to learn together, to engage in rich conversation about what new practices present to and for our teaching, and perhaps most importantly, to think collectively about how we can not only do things better, but how we can do better things. To that end, we invite you to join us this fall not in a traditional format where we tinker with new tools, but in a welcoming and purposeful space where we talk together about what we need and what we are learning this semester from our experiences as teachers. We will celebrate the wins and unpack the challenges. We will problem solve while sharing exemplary student work that emerges from the unique affordances of teaching in digital and face-to-face contexts. Most importantly, we will be a space for faculty to pose questions, talk earnestly and authentically about our teaching challenges, and to provide community as we navigate exceptional times.

We invite all faculty to join us in these robust and responsive conversations on the last working Friday of each month via Zoom. You can attend one, some, or all; we just ask that you sign up ahead of time, so we know who to expect and what resources we might gather.

Email Nic Holt to receive the Zoom invitations or to request more information about the ITT Academy. We all need a space to talk together as teachers about teaching, and we are eager to do just that. Come. Bring a colleague. Bring a question or a celebration. We’ll start there.
