Announcing the new College of Education Strategic Plan

Back in early March, via COEfyi and during the spring College meeting, I asked College colleagues to provide feedback about the first draft of the Mary Frances Early College of Education’s 2025 Strategic Plan. Yesterday, the Strategic Planning Committee submitted the College’s 2025 Strategic Plan to the President’s Office. As chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, I want to thank the 33 faculty and staff members of our College who served on our planning committee and gave their time, energy, and creativity to this process (see Table 1 in the Appendix for a complete roster). I would especially like to recognize and thank the leaders of the four sub-committees for their key role in facilitating their team’s efforts and drafting segments of the plan. They are listed here in order of our four Strategic Directions:

  • Sara B. Kajder (Language and Literacy Education): Teaching & Learning
  • Laine P. Bradshaw (Educational Psychology): Research, Innovation, & Entrepreneurship
  • Kevin J. Burke (Language and Literacy Education): Partnerships with Communities
  • Dorothy Y. White (Mathematics and Science Education): Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

It truly was a collaborative community-building process, and I am excited for the College community to start enacting our plan together. Please feel free to reach out to me directly for more information or if you have questions.

Ellen Evans
Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee
