UGA's 2021 Embedded Study Abroad pilot program

Faculty, please consider assisting with the development of UGA’s Embedded Study Abroad initiative. With generous assistance from the Office of the Provost, the Office of Global Engagement is piloting a new Embedded Study Abroad initiative in Maymester and summer 2021. This initiative allows for on-campus Maymester and summer classes to have the opportunity to include a one-week embedded study abroad component as part of the course.

• Application deadline: February 1, 2021

Faculty expenses will be covered, plus the instructor of record will receive a stipend with the amount TBD (along similar lines to the First-Year Odyssey Seminar program). The Office of Global Engagement intends to select and approve three-five applications for this pilot program. Students will be required to pay for this extra component and may apply to the University’s regular scholarship funds.
