Call for applications: Spring 2021 ITT Academy

  • Dates: Feb. 19, March 19, and March 26
  • Time: 10 a.m.-noon
  • Location: Zoom

The proverb “necessity is the mother of invention” seemingly applies to our current challenge of teaching while responding to the new constraints and opportunities that have come in recent months. The University offers us a core “toolset” of four primary instructional systems: Zoom, eLC, Kaltura, and, in just the past few weeks, Google Workspace.

The spring 2021 Innovation in Teaching and Technology (ITT) Academy will do something that seems so foundational and yet hasn’t happened in any other space—we will explore each of these systems, how they intersect and can play together, and how we can leverage them to engage students. We will imagine, critique, challenge, and, as is always at the heart of the ITT, connect.

The Academy is limited to 10 participants with priority given to faculty and programmatic diversity. Faculty budgeted for at least 50% instruction will also receive a stipend of $500. Participants who successfully complete the ITT Academy will be expected to attend and present at the 2021 Innovation in Teaching Conference sponsored by the Mary Frances Early College of Education.

To apply, send an email to Nic Holt with the following information:

  • Name and rank/position
  • Department/program
  • Confirmation you are budgeted for at least 50% instruction to receive the $500 stipend (faculty only)
  • Confirmation of your intent to attend all of the scheduled ITT Academy sessions
  • Confirmation of your intent to present at the 2021 Innovations in Teaching Conference

The call for applications are due Wednesday, Feb. 17.
