Students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to register for the College of Education’s 16th annual Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Conference. The conference will occur virtually Monday-Wednesday, March 22-24 with conversations focused on the theme “What’s Education Got to Do with It? Keynote address
- Monday, March 22; noon-1 p.m.
Cynthia Dillard, Mary Frances Early Professor of Teacher Education in the Department of Educational Theory and Practice, will present a keynote address titled “An Invitation, A Sanctuary and Space to Live Your Legacy: Embracing the Spirit of Education.”
Featured student panel
- Tuesday, March 23; 11 a.m.-noon
Attend a featured student panel with Clarke County School District High School students, which will be facilitated by Chris Mojock, clinical associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology.

“Where Do We Go from Here: Exploring the Role and Responsibility of Education for Collective Healing and Advocacy in Challenging Times”

Facilitated by Dana Barnhart, student affairs professional in the Department of Kinesiology, this panel features Richard Blissett, assistant professor in the Department of Lifelong Education, Administration, and Policy; Kevin Burke, associate professor in the Department of Language and Literacy Education; Cheryl Fields-Smith, associate professor in the Department of Educational Theory and Practice; Sycarah Fisher, assistant professor in the Department of Educational Psychology; and over a dozen interactive sessions facilitated by students, faculty, staff, and community members from across UGA and the surrounding community.
