UGA response to the Atlanta tragedy

Our hearts go out to the victims and all those affected by the senseless acts of violence in metro Atlanta. We are mindful of the particular impact of this heinous incident on members of the Asian American community, many of whom have been subject to acts of racism and discrimination over the past year. We condemn the acts of violence, as well as any form of discrimination or harassment of Asian Americans, and we stand with, and in support of, you.

We encourage you to take full advantage of support resources available to you at the institution. This includes connecting with Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS), Multicultural Services and Programs, International Student Life, or Student Care and Outreach for additional resources.

Sincerely,

Jere W. Morehead, President

S. Jack Hu, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost

Victor K. Wilson, Vice President for Student Affairs

Michelle G. Cook, Vice Provost for Diversity and Inclusion and Strategic University Initiatives

Ron Walcott, Vice Provost for Graduate Education and Dean of the Graduate School
