2021-22 CCSD projects, contracts, experiential learning, and research

For the 2021-22 academic year, the College is supporting the request from the Clarke County School District (CCSD) to have a more limited presence in the school system. This decision:

  1. Respects our CCSD colleagues’ needs to address a post-COVID school experience
  2. Considers the saturation of UGA students and faculty (from across the University) in CCSD schools
  3. Allows for the development of policies and procedures for tracking overall UGA engagement in schools (e.g., knowledge of who is in school, background checks, consistency with CCSD needs)
  4. Allows for leadership changes to key personnel in the school district to assess UGA/CCSD engagement
  5. Provides time and space to engage with CCSD to meet their request to re-constitute a partnership that is mutually beneficial

The College is gathering information on faculty and student projects, contracts, experiential learning (outside of field placements), and research activities planned for the school district in 2021-2022. Please send a brief summary (2-3 sentences) and the names of the involved faculty and staff to associate dean for academic programs Stacey Neuharth-Pritchett.

The College leadership is meeting with the district to share these plans and assess CCSD’s willingness to continue with the associated projects. To ensure your or your students’ projects are included in that request, please send the requested information by Friday, April 30.
