Apply for UGA's Service-Learning Fellows Program by April 30

  • Application deadline: Friday, April 30

The Office of Service-Learning is now accepting applications for the 2021-2022 Service-Learning Fellows program.

This year-long faculty development program provides an opportunity for participating faculty to explore best practices in service-learning and community engagement while developing new service-learning courses or considering ways to integrate service-learning into existing courses or programs. Application materials and details are available on the Service-Learning Fellows Program website.

Faculty selected for participation in the new cohort will receive a $2,500 faculty development award and mentoring from experienced Service-Learning Fellows, as well as individualized support from the Office of Service-Learning. All permanent, full-time UGA faculty members (academic tenure track, academic professionals, public service faculty, clinical faculty, and lecturers) with an interest in service-learning are eligible. Previous experience with service-learning is not required. Service-learning is an experiential learning method that provides opportunities for students to apply academic knowledge through projects that address community needs.

For questions related to applying, please contact Paul Matthews, associate director of the Office of Service-Learning, via email or call 706-542-0892. The Office of Service-Learning is jointly supported by the Office of Instruction and the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach.
