Attend the 2021 Torrance Festival of Ideas

The 2021 Torrance Festival of Ideas is a three-day online cultural event where a wide range of creative and imaginative experts will present their innovative ideas to the general public. Each day features nine events—seven talks from renowned speakers coupled with two spotlights on local nonprofits in Athens.
The festival will showcase 21 speakers who will present their unique perspectives on themes related to creativity, imagination, visual art, digital art, music, humor, empathy, consciousness, well-being, mindfulness, childhood, aging, education, equality, identity, healing, health, crisis, curiosity, innovation, entrepreneurship, authenticity, political resistance, and sociocultural change. The spirit of Athens will also be showcased, with spotlights on local nonprofit organizations that serve the community in creative and crucial ways.
College faculty speakers include:
- Richard Blissett, assistant professor in the Department of Lifelong Education, Administration, and Policy
- Sycarah Fisher, assistant professor and graduate coordinator in the Department of Educational Psychology
- Melisa “Misha” Cahnmann-Taylor, professor in the Department of Language and Literacy Education
The 2021 Torrance Festival of Ideas, organized by Anna Abraham, E. Paul Torrance Professor of Creativity and Gifted Education in the Department of Educational Psychology and director of the Torrance Center for Creativity and Talent Development, is free to attend and open to everyone in the local and global community.
