Ramadan lasts through May 12
Ramadan is observed by Muslims around the world and is a month-long spiritual period of fasting and prayer. During this time, practicing Muslims will not eat or drink from dawn to dusk. The month concludes with a festival called Eid-al-Fitr, a celebration to mark breaking fast. This year, Ramadan started on Monday, April 12 and will end on Wednesday, May 12. This period includes the end of the semester when faculty, staff, and students are completing end-of-the semester commitments.
