Closure requests for graduating students

Attention faculty mentors of graduating students,

Please encourage your graduating students to draft and submit closure requests for their completed human research projects before they leave UGA and while their access to UGA systems is still active.

It is important to close out human research projects with the required information such as final participant accrual numbers, reports of any complaints or problems, and any unreported changes. Closure of the project begins the federal regulatory requirement to retain project records for three years. Records include signed consent forms, raw data, and all project review-related correspondence with the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
