New releases from the Digital Library of Georgia
Two mid-20th century collections, now digitized and available freely online, recall Atlanta neighborhoods lost to urban renewal and Georgia’s growing Catholic community.
The new collections of digitized films and slides that document the growth of Georgia’s Catholic community between 1938-1979 are now available freely online through the Digital Library of Georgia. With these materials from Marist School educators Reverend Michael Kerwick (1912-1990) and Reverend Vincent Brennan (1912-1993), the library is able to piece together the history of the school’s campus, community, and activities, both at its former location in downtown Atlanta (as Marist College) and its Brookhaven home on Ashford-Dunwoody Road (as Marist School) in DeKalb County.
