Kudos: Associate professor co-authors new book on intersection of religious and queer discourses

Kevin Burke, an associate professor in the Department of Language and Literacy Education, recently co-authored a book with Adam Greteman, an assistant professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

The book, “On Liking the Other: Queer Subjects and Religious Discourses,” studies the intersection of religious and queer discourses in teacher education and will be available in December.

“My co-author and I are convinced that teacher education as a field would do well to reconsider the ways in which it thinks with, about, and through queer identity and politics in relation to the religions that present themselves to us as part of the everyday in the classroom,” Burke said.
