- Register today
As we enter into the new academic year, new and returning faculty and graduate student instructors are invited to join the College’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in conversations about ways to integrate DEI considerations into syllabi.
We’ll move through a checklist designed to support clarifying DEI values and centering communities whose histories, voices, and contributions are too often marginalized and left out of academic syllabi. As instructors, it is important we make every effort to critically interrogate the messages our syllabi send and to implement strategies that magnify the history, innovations, narratives, and ideas of native/Indigenous, queer and trans, Black, Asian diaspora, and Latinx communities in our teaching and learning settings.
This space will offer instructors the opportunity to reflect critically on their syllabi, so you’re invited to bring your fall 2021 syllabus draft(s), so we can learn from and with one another.
