Mask guidance

The University System of Georgia encourages everyone, whether vaccinated or not, to wear a mask or face covering while inside campus buildings. Students, staff, and faculty may encourage persons with whom they are meeting to wear a mask (e.g., student group projects, student-advisor appointments, staff-supervisor meetings, student-instructor office hours), but they cannot require it.

Further, everyone who wishes to meet with you face-to-face (particularly students) should be given an opportunity to do so, but you may move the meeting to a larger space (such as an empty conference room or classroom) or outdoors. If both parties are agreeable, the meeting can be held virtually. Each unit should have a supply of disposable masks to distribute to those who need one.
