– **Date:** Thursday, Oct. 14
– **Time:** Noon-1 p.m.
The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion invites students, staff, and faculty to join us for the Graduate Certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion open house. The program is designed for students who are interested in developing a deeper understanding of systemic oppression and its relationship to social change. This [15-hour graduate certificate](https://coe.uga.edu/academics/non-degree/certificate-diversity-equity-inclusion) includes one core course (3 hours) and four courses of electives (12 hours). In the core course, students will learn about the foundations of diversity, equity, and inclusion work across settings. Then, students will select four elective courses (which may come from departments across the university) that teach about issues of race/ethnicity, social class, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, immigration, poverty, and other important contemporary sociocultural issues.
