National Coming Out Day is on Oct. 11

National Coming Out Day, on Monday, Oct. 11 this year, provides an opportunity to recognize individuals in the LGBTQ+ community for their bravery in speaking their truth and being their most authentic self. Coming out is a powerful display of personal agency, pride, and representation.

This day also helps create awareness of the struggles and difficulties those in the LGBTQ+ community experience, as there still remain many extensive challenges in coming out where individuals may not feel safe, comfortable, or accepted to be themselves. As it is a day of unity and respect, we feel it is vital to cultivate an environment where equality is valued, and everyone can feel proud of who they are.
