Remembering exercise and sport science student Shawn Kuhn

Shawn Kuhn, a senior studying exercise and sport science in the Mary Frances Early College of Education, died on Monday, Oct. 11. He was 21.

Kuhn worked as a certified personal trainer at the UGA Ramsey Student Center and at Chick-Fil-A on Atlanta Highway, where he began as a server and quickly rose to team leader. After graduation, he hoped to become a certified physical therapist.

From Perry, Georgia, Kuhn was a 2018 Honor Graduate of Perry High School, where he was actively involved as a thespian in the Theater of Performing Arts and received the Best Supporting Actor Award for his performance in “The Lost Boy.” He played soccer and received the Coach’s Award. Kuhn also ran with the cross-country team and received an award for his teamwork, kindness, and friendship to others.

Kuhn’s family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15 at Cross Point Baptist Church in Perry. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16 at Cross Point Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Shawn Kuhn Memorial Scholarship Fund at Perry High School.
