UGA celebrates first-generation students; attend First Gen Docs event
In honor of National First-Generation College Celebration Day on Monday, Nov. 8, join UGA for a week-long celebration of first-generation students, faculty, and staff at the University of Georgia! Please visit the First Generation Celebration webpage for a list of events.

In celebration of this week, the College’s DEI Office will host the founders of First Gen Docs and alumni of the College of Education Lamesha Brown (Ph.D. ’19), Raven Cokley (M.Ed. ’15, Ph.D. ’20), and Jason Wallace (Ph.D. ’20) who will share their graduate school experiences, discuss how they support graduate students through the First Gen Docs community, and offer advice on navigating graduate school for current and prospective graduate students. The event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 10 from 4-5 p.m. via Zoom.
First Gen Docs is a virtual community affirming the experiences, amplifying the voices, and celebrating the brilliance of first-generation doctoral students. Students can follow First Gen Docs on Twitter.
