RSVP to join the College of Education at the Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Breakfast

The University of Georgia’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Breakfast is an annual partnership between the University of Georgia, the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government, and the Clarke County School District. The Freedom Breakfast honors the legacy of the late civil rights leader and recognizes community members dedicated to furthering race relations, justice, and human rights with the President’s Fulfilling the Dream Award.
The College of Education will have two tables at the event and will hold seats for the first RSVPs received. Please express your interest in attending by Wednesday, Dec. 22. Additional ticket sales information can be found on UGA’s Office of Institutional Diversity website.
Freedom Breakfast speaker
This year’s theme is “The Power of the Dream: Footsteps of Courage,” and the keynote speaker is Arthur Dunning, former president of Albany State University and former vice president of public service and outreach at the University of Georgia. He recently published “Unreconciled: Race, History, and Higher Education in the Deep South.”
Important parking information
Attendees should note that the Tate Center parking deck fills up very fast before the event, and the lines to use the Tate Center elevators and enter the Grand Hall can also be long. Therefore, we strongly advise you to arrive early, carpool, and/or take the bus so you can enjoy the start of the event.
