Fisher featured in story by UGA's Center for Family Research

Sycarah Fisher, an associate professor in the Department of Educational Psychology, focuses her research in part on expanding mental health services to schools primarily serving minority and low-income students—similar to the backgrounds of students she worked with as a school psychologist in Washington D.C.

Fisher works with the UGA Center for Family Research to help school systems support students who exhibit problem behaviors through the use of mental health services, rather than harsh punishments, and to put students’ behavior in context.
