Zhai receives funds to create AI-embedded STEM curricula

Xiaoming Zhai, assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies Education, will lead an interdisciplinary team at UGA to develop a research hub that aims to create AI-embedded STEM curricula.

Funded by UGA’s Interdisciplinary Research Pre-Seed Program, the project will also develop a nationwide research network to support students underrepresented in STEM to meet the increasing demand for a workforce capable of using AI to solve STEM problems. The hub brings together a research group with unique yet complementary expertise in science education, technology, computer science, public health, physics and astronomy, and geography.
