Zhai receives State-of-the-Art Award to sponsor AI conference

Xiaoming Zhai, an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies Education, received a UGA State-of-the-Art Conference Grants award to sponsor his conference, “AI-based Assessment in STEM Education Conference: Potential, Challenge, and Future” in Georgia.

By design, State-of-the-Art Conferences embrace novel gatherings and innovative themes that are not already routine or recurring with a base of support.

Alumna selected for English Language Fellow Program

Vicki Hale (M.Ed. ’18), a graduate of the Mary Frances Early College of Education’s TESOL and world language education certificate program, was recently selected for a 10-month U.S. Department of State fellowship.

Hale is one of 200 U.S. citizens who will take part in the 2021-22 English Language Fellow Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. She will train teachers and teach English at St. Joseph’s College for Women in Visakhapatnam, India, from January-November 2022.
