Now accepting course proposals for Torrance Center Summer Institute
The Torrance Center Summer Institute (TCSI) will take place June 13-16. We are now accepting course proposals—online, in-person, and hybrid—for the TCSI from interested faculty.
In previous years, the TCSI offered courses on the principles of creative thinking as a framework for curriculum development, classroom teaching, and assessment. From 2022 on, we aim to diversify the course offerings of the TCSI to reflect the unique academic and pedagogical expertise that the College is renowned for.
We invite faculty, including those co-teaching with graduate students, to consider offering a course at the TCSI 2022 that derives from any aspect of your expertise that would be relevant and useful for the educational practice community at large. This is a great opportunity to connect with educators in the region and to provide state-of-the-art instruction and guidance for optimal pedagogical practice.
We request the following information from potential TCSI instructors:
- Name of course
- Instructor(s)
- Session type:
- Morning (9 a.m.-noon)
- Afternoon (1-4 p.m.)
- Either option works
- Session days:
- All or partial (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
- Delivery type:
- In-person
- Zoom
- Either option works
- Course description (100-150 words)
Please send the above information to Desiree Sharpe by Friday, Feb. 11, and contact her for additional information.
