Call for proposals: Southeastern Universities Graduate Research Symposium

  • Deadline to submit proposals: Friday, March 4
  • Deadline to submit final posters and papers: Friday, March 11

Do you need a practice run for a national conference presentation? Do you have an idea that you would just like to share for feedback or collaboration? Do you have research you completed in 2021-2022 or earlier you would like to present?

Consider submitting a proposal to the Southeastern Universities Graduate Research Symposium (SUGRS). SUGRS is a regional event and will hold its third annual symposium in a virtual format from March 28-April 1.

Hosted by the Educational Studies Department at the University of Alabama with support from Auburn University, Baylor University, University of Georgia, and University of Tennessee.

Proposal abstracts may represent:

  • Completed, in progress, or proposed research
  • Program evaluation
  • Conceptual frameworks
  • Literature reviews
  • Professional skill development for innovative, evidence-based services (in-process research is welcome)

UGA student attendees have an opportunity to be awarded a $300 research award.

Proposal abstracts must be submitted electronically by visiting the SUGRS webpage and clicking the “submit” button. Final posters and papers must be submitted electronically as well.

If you require a specific accommodation covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act, please email this information to Stacy Hughey Surman as early as possible, but no later than Friday, March 11.

If you have questions about the conference broadly, please contact Stacy Hughey Surman. If you have questions as a UGA student about the conference, please contact Maureen Flint.
