Luft co-edits new handbook on science teacher education

Julie Luft, Athletic Association Professor of Science Education and Distinguished Research Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies Education, co-edited a recently published handbook on science teacher education.

The handbook focuses on research across topics including elementary and secondary teacher preparation, professional learning, science teachers, and emerging areas.

“The authors and section editors brought new ways of contemplating the topics, and they brought forth important new ideas pertaining to science teacher education,” Luft said.

Skinner receives 2022 ASMA Graduate Student Research Competition Award

Tyler Skinner (Ph.D. ’24), doctoral student in the Department of Kinesiology’s sport management program, won the 2022 Applied Sport Management Association Graduate Student Research Competition Award.

“This was my first in-person conference presentation, so I was excited for the opportunity to present and am extremely honored to have received the award,” he said.
