Media mention: Salaga quoted on concession prices at the Masters Tournament

Steve Salaga, associate professor in the Mary Frances Early College of Education’s Department of Kinesiology, was quoted in a recent article from Sporting News on low concession prices at the Masters Tournament.

Although resale ticket prices to attend the golf tournament reach thousands of dollars, each concession item costs $6 or less.

“We have to remember, the total cost of event attendance includes travel and transaction costs, the cost of the ticket itself, as well as any parking, concessions, and souvenirs purchased,” Salaga told FOX Business. “So one way to make the overall experience more appealing to the consumer is to keep the price of these complementary products like concessions low.”
