New GALILEO databases

GALILEO added several EBSCO databases this new fiscal year:

  • Learning Express Library: This is a collection of test prep resources and practice tests including the MCAT, LSAT, GRE, SAT, civil service, military, etc. Users need to authenticate through the express link, then set up an individual registration.
  • Points of View Reference Center: Although not nearly as well-designed as CQ Researcher, it may be a decent substitute since our CQ content ends with 2019.
  • Science Reference Center: Aimed at middle school and high school students, this resource includes full text science magazines, journals, reference books, and study guides as well as some videos, experiments, lesson plans, and images.
  • Ethnic Diversity Source: EBSCO’s competition to Ethnic Newswatch; this includes scholarly journals, newspapers, magazines, and a small number of books focused on the “culture, traditions, social treatment, and lived experiences of different ethnic groups in America.”

Two databases have been upgraded: MAS Ultra is now MAS Complete, and Masterfile Elite is now Masterfile Complete. MAS is aimed at high schoolers, while Masterfile is aimed at a general interest, public library audience. These are all in the A-Z GALILEO list, and all except Learning Express Library are included in Multi-Search.
