Attend the Brain Health Seminar Series with Steven Wolf on Sept. 28

The Department of Kinesiology, along with the Institute of Gerontology and Athens Presbyterian Village, will be hosting the Brain Health Seminar Series: “On the Move: Brain Health and Movement Disorders.”

The aim of this series is to provide educational knowledge to students and faculty at UGA on the current research frontiers in the neuroscience of human movement.

The second seminar will be facilitated by Steven Wolf. Wolf is a professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. He is also a professor of health and elder care in Emory’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, an associate professor in the Department of Cell Biology at Emory, and a senior research scientist at the Center for Visual and Neurocognitive Rehabilitation, Atlanta VA Health Care System. Wolf is the world’s leading expert in stroke rehabilitation and will be speaking on vagus nerve stimulation paired with upper extremity rehabilitation for motor recovery following a stroke.

An applied presentation titled, “Fall Prevention in Aging,” and discussion will be held at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Village.
