Doctoral students, staff member receive awards at BFSO luncheon
Three students and one staff member in the Mary Frances Early College of Education received scholarships and awards at the Black Faculty and Staff Organization’s annual luncheon.
Jasmine Newsome (Ph.D. ’25) and Shawntell Pace (M.Ed. ’19, Ph.D. ’25), doctoral students in the counseling psychology program, were among the six students recognized with scholarship awards. Newsome received the Melanie A. Burden Community Arts Award and Pace received the Graduate Founders Award.
Takenya Moore, human resources coordinator for the College, and Narke Norton (A.B. ’14, M.Ed. ’19, Ph.D. ’25), doctoral student in the college student affairs administration program and assistant director of recruitment and diversity initiatives in the Graduate School, were two of the recipients of the 2022 Ed Wilker Memorial Egalitarian Award.
