Attend the Brain Health Seminar Series with Jing Xu on Nov. 30

The Department of Kinesiology, along with the Institute of Gerontology and Athens Presbyterian Village, will be hosting the Brain Health Seminar Series: “On the Move: Brain Health and Movement Disorders.”
The aim of this series is to provide educational knowledge to students and faculty at UGA on the current research frontiers in the neuroscience of human movement.
The fourth seminar will be facilitated by Jing Xu, an assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology, director of the Cognition and Dexterity Laboratory, and co-director of the Neurostimulation Laboratory at UGA. Her research strives to understand cognitive processes and neural mechanisms for human skill learning, and uncover biomarkers and factors for better rehabilitation strategies after neurological injuries. She will be speaking on the complexity and variability in human finger individuation in the healthy and disease.
An applied presentation titled, “Stroke recovery from the acute to chronic stages,” and discussion will be held at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Village.
