Attend Pedagogy & Praxis Book Club meeting on Jan. 18

  • Date: Wednesday, Jan. 18
  • Time: 12:30-1:45 p.m.
  • Location: The Institute for Women’s Studies (IWS) library, in the basement of Gilbert Hall

The Pedagogy & Praxis Book Club will meet in January for a conversation about “Community as Rebellion: A Syllabus for Surviving Academia as a Woman of Color”—a short thought-provoking book from former colleague Lorgia García Peña.

IWS affiliate faculty and graduate students are invited to join, and we are happy to welcome “IWS-adjacent” colleagues and graduate students as well. If you plan to come, please send an email to Ingie Hovland to let us know. We will set aside free copies of Lorgia García Peña’s book, which can be picked up from Carla York in the IWS office. The book is also available to read online through the UGA library website.

More book club meetings will follow in February and April, and you can attend all or some as your schedule allows:
