Kudos: Lewis Ellison, Smagorinsky recognized as finalists for 2022 Edward Fry Book Award
Associate professor Tisha Lewis Ellison and professor emeritus Peter Smagorinsky, both in the Department of Language and Literacy Education, were recognized as one of two finalists for the 2022 Literacy Research Association’s Edward Fry Book Award for their book, “Whitewashed Critical Perspectives: Restoring the Edge to Edgy Ideas,” along with co-editors Catherine Compton-Lilly and Kristen H. Perry.
The finalists were recognized during the Literacy Research Association (LRA) Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, on December 1, 2022.
The purpose of the Edward B. Fry Book Award is to recognize LRA members who author a book on literacy research and practice. The award was established by Edward B. Fry, who contributed a fund to support this recognition.
