Media mention: Jones writes op-ed in AJC on ChatGPT and AI

Stephanie Jones, Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor, wrote an essay for the AJC on ChatGPT and how artificial intelligence models such as this one will replace workers, change jobs in unpredictable ways, and exacerbate economic inequality if profits aren’t distributed across society.

She challenges educators to consider what our collective purpose is for gathering children and youth in schools every day when it is no longer ethical or reasonable to narrowly focus on a vision of creating “workers.”
