Media mention: Mary Frances Early quoted in AJC op-ed about bringing awareness to AMD

Mary Frances Early recently spoke about an upcoming project to help bring awareness to age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in an AJC op-ed.

Early, the first Black graduate of the University of Georgia, said she has had the condition for 10 years and hopes to see obstacles removed for visually impaired individuals.

“We need someone to monitor Americans with Disabilities Act for compliance and see if companies are living up to their pledge,” she said. “Even though people are impaired, they are still human beings who need to be able to live with dignity and purpose.”
