A “Courageous Conversation” titled “Gatekeeping: Decision Making and Race Matters in Testing, Intelligence, and Achievement,” organized by students from the Educational Psychology of Race and Racism course, will be hosted on Thursday, April 20.
Students from this course have secured a panel of people, including Gloria Ladson-Billings, professor emerita at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. We are thrilled to have a diverse and robust panel of experienced educators and leaders!

- David White, principal of Burgess-Peterson Academy, Atlanta Public Schools
- Donna Major, school improvement coordinator, Walton County School District
- Mona Haygood, coordinator of gifted and talented services, Atlanta Public Schools
- Denise Cobb-Williams, director of elementary curriculum, Walton County School District
Panel hosts include Corey Gray, a doctoral student in gifted and creative education; Angela Clayton, a doctoral student in gifted and creative education; Xinyu Liu, a master’s student in applied cognition and development; and Layla Jones, a sociology major.
