Attend the AADM End School-to-Prison Pipeline Conference on April 29

  • Date: Saturday, April 29
  • Time: 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
  • Location: The Classic Center (300 N. Thomas Street, Athens, GA 30601)

You are invited to the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement (AADM)’s End to School-to-Prison Pipeline (ESTPP) Conference, a unique opportunity for educators, policymakers, and community leaders to come together to learn about effective strategies to combat the school-to-prison pipeline. A team of experts will lead discussions on restorative justice practices and how they can be implemented in the classroom to promote healthy and positive relationships between students and teachers. The importance of gang prevention and how to empower youth to make positive choices in their lives will also be discussed. The conference includes a two-part session: part one is for educators and the general public, and part two is a youth empowerment session for middle and high school students and their parents.

The ESTPP Conference is an annual event, free of cost to K-12 students and their parents/chaperones. Proceeds from this event will support the conference cost and program. The Mary Frances Early College of Education has been offered five free registrations for faculty, staff, or students interested in participating. If you are interested in receiving complimentary registration, please email the DEI Office for more information.
