Celebrating interfaith traditions in April

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion wants to honor and celebrate the large number of interfaith traditions that occur during the month of April. Please keep in mind that many students, staff, and faculty will participate in various events important to their particular religions over the next several weeks.

As faculty and staff, we may want to learn more about these events to foster greater understanding of how to support our students and colleagues during this time. For instance, Passover (Judaism), Ramadan (Islam), and the Easter holiday (Christianity), will all be celebrated during this month, among others. We encourage you to consult a religious calendar to help our community create a more inclusive environment and offer support and understanding for those who are observing these events. This includes supporting colleagues who may identify as atheist and agnostic.
