Media mention: Abraham quoted in The Independent
Anna Abraham, the E. Paul Torrance Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and director of the Torrance Center for Creativity and Talent Development, was interviewed by The Independent about the effects of ChatGPT on creativity.
The AI tool quickly generates responses to a variety of prompts, but relying on ChatGPT could alter people’s ability to create and think critically.
“Recognizing your own voice, reasoning for yourself, integrating information yourself as opposed to having it all done for you…I’m worried about how AI will impact general learning, general understanding, and all of that will have a knock-on impact on creativity,” Abraham said.
