Join the DEI Certificate Advisory Committee

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is seeking faculty members to form an advisory committee for the DEI graduate certificate program. The certificate is designed for graduate students within and outside of the Mary Frances Early College of Education who are interested in building their cultural knowledge base in social justice leadership and multiculturalism.

The 15-hour program includes one core course requirement and four elective courses. Approved electives must comprehensively address topics of race/ethnicity, social class, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, immigration, poverty, or other relevant sociocultural issues.

The advisory council will meet 1-2 times per semester (including the summer) and work with the assistant dean of diversity, equity, and inclusion to support the creation of DEI course content, determine eligibility for newly approved elective courses, and develop professional development opportunities for instructors.

If you are interested in getting involved and supporting our College’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, please express your interest in joining by emailing our office by Thursday, June 15.
