Nominate outstanding students for a BFSO scholarship

  • Submission deadline: Friday, May 26 at 5 p.m.

Faculty and staff members are invited to submit nominations for the Black Faculty and Staff Organization’s Myron Burney Service Award, the Mark Dawkins Leadership Award, and the Melanie A. Burden Community Award.

  • Myron Burney Service Award: Recognizes a current UGA student with a minimum 3.0 GPA who has demonstrated outstanding community service in the Black community both on and off campus.
  • Mark Dawkins Leadership Award: Recognizes a current UGA student with a minimum 3.0 GPA. The student must also have at least one year of leadership experience on the executive board of a UGA student organization whose primary purpose is to meet the academic and social needs of Black students.
  • Melanie A. Burden Community Award: Recognizes a current UGA student with a minimum 3.0 GPA who has demonstrated outstanding commitment in community service, leadership, and mentorship with young girls or young women.
