As the public becomes increasingly concerned with the number of school-aged children who have difficulties learning to read, it is more important than ever for school leaders, teachers, parents, and legislators to understand what can and cannot be definitively concluded about how to teach reading.

In this presentation, literacy experts from the University at Buffalo will discuss claims about reading instruction that are common in the science of reading movement and present 10 things to know from decades of scientifically-based reading research.
